Berkshire Independent Scanning offers the full range of gynaecology services (including ultrasound scanning) and we provide an easy and relaxing atmosphere in which to discuss any concerns.We are aware of the anxieties felt by many women with gynaecological problems and you will have ample opportunity to discuss any test/procedure with either a Gynaecologist or a highly experienced Sonographer.
Our services are recognised by all the major insurance companies. If you are self funding, there is no need for a doctor’s referral letter.

Services include:
Pelvic ultrasound examination;We also have close links with local Specialists at the Royal Berkshire Hospital (Reading) and John Radcliffe Hospital (Oxford).
Other Services include:Ultrasound of the pelvis is useful for finding cysts on the ovaries, examining the lining of the womb and looking for cancerous or benign tumours in the pelvic region.Both trans-abdominal and trans-vaginal ultrasound scans (looking through the vagina) are available. The trans-vaginal technique is the preferred method of scanning when looking at the womb and ovaries as it provides superior image quality.These examinations are performed by either a Consultant Gynaeacologist or highly qualified Sonographers with extensive gynaecological experience.
At your request, we can report directly to your GP/Consultant and are happy to provide a written report and images, as required.
